Here’s the earliest WXRT commercial I’ve yet found – it features “Monty Python”-style animations of the Rolling Stones, David Bowie, Muddy Waters, Bruce Springsteen, and Blondie, and others. The opening drum beat is from the Beatles’ Sgt. Pepper’s reprise.

About The Museum of Classic Chicago Television:
The Museum of Classic Chicago Television’s primary mission is the
preservation and display of off-air, early home videotape recordings (70s
and early 80s, primarily) recorded off of any and all Chicago TV channels;
footage which would likely be lost if not sought out and preserved
digitally. Even though (mostly) short clips are displayed here, we
preserve the entire broadcasts in our archives – the complete programs
with breaks (or however much is present on the tape), for historical
purposes. For information on how to help in our mission, to donate or
lend tapes to be converted to DVD, and to view more of the 3,700+ (and
counting) video clips available for viewing in our online archive, please

Artists that released only one hit single, one signature song that overshadows their other work, but often made them famous and a part of music history. Many of these artists have made more great songs but the only one became a big hit on charts. Rate, comment and subscribe!!!

Where have the good rock bands gone? While finding a new modern rock band on commercial radio is relegated to a very few good rock stations, Shallow Side refuses to accept the idea that rock music is dead. This is one band that will not bow down to Pop Music, Rap Music, Heavy Metal or Classic Rock music.
If you’ve been anywhere near an active rock radio station or Sirius/XM Octane in the last couple years, then you’ve probably heard os Shallow Side. They are an anomaly amongst the rock music radio crowd and are bringing some musical credibility to a tired environment. It turns out that they had 4 independent releases before their 2017, so this is another example of years of hard work paying off.
Shallow Side is a powerful Rock Band is fueled by raw vocals, soul pounding drums, dark sexual energy and five magnetically infectious personalities. Calling Cullman, Alabama home, their songs represent the sound that is the modern rock music, the recipe of internal struggles mixed with relationship problems and life’s let downs in general are mixed with hope and the faith this is not all life is meant to be and from the ashes we all have a chance to rise.
They are a rock band through and through. Combining the driving rhythms that push the core of pop music with aggressive guitar work, carefully constructed bass passages, and a voice that smashes into focus atop the platform laid down by the music, Shallow Side has crafted a new sound with the same “no holds barred” attitude that has kept rock n roll alive and kicking since its inception.
To prove it, the new young rock band has just landed a major sponsor in the form of Number JUAN Tequila® after they prevailed out of over 200 bands on the Lex and Terry® Radio Network Music Movement to garner some major national rock music attention.
Number Juan Tequila® is owned by comedians Ron White, Blue Comedy Bad Boy and Alex Reymundo, who was one of he original Latino Kings of Comedy. White first emerged as a member of the Blue Collar Comedy Tour and is now one of the premier acts in all of show business. Their decision to sponsor Shallow Side speaks to their desire to support talented artists. When White and Reymundo heard Shallow Side they were blown away and used their jaugernaut tequila company to help the young band.
Expenses for touring new rock music bands are high, and not always covered by ticket sales. The challenge for bands of any genre, like rock music, pop music, heavy metal music or classic rock music in the 21st century is to be heard. The days of radio play are practically over and rock bands particularly suffer from a lack of any recognition. New Rock Music Bands like Shallow Side rely on word of mouth and social media to build an audience and following. The way they achieve either of those is to tour and play their rock music live. Some dates pay better than others. Which is why sponsorships like this one are so important.
Shallow Side as a band is fueled by raw powerful vocals, soul pounding drums, dark sexual energy and five magnetically infectious personalities. While their songs represent the sound that is the modern rock, the recipe of internal struggles mixed with relationship problems and life’s let downs in general are mixed with hope and the faith this is not all life is meant to be and from the ashes we all have a chance to rise.
Rock music has always drawn strongly on a number of other genres such as electric blues and folk, and incorporated influences from jazz, classical and other musical styles. Musically, rock has centered on the electric guitar, usually as part of a rock group with electric bass and drums and one or more singers. Typically, rock is song-based music usually with a 4/4 time signature using a verse-chorus form, but the genre has become extremely diverse.
In an era when pop, dance and rap music dominate, Shallow Side stands head and shoulders over all new rock bands coming out. Their success and ability to attract a sponsor like Number Juan Tequila® speaks not only to their musical ability but that the audience for rock music remains. Shallow Side plays over 200 live shows a year and has also recorded a number of songs available for download on iTunes® and the bands’ web site.
