Classic Rock videos – Mediabase Published Active Rock Chart, April 23 2017

While Papa Roach remain at number one, Starset go top 2, but will they get their first #1 in the long run? Only time will tell. Through Fire, All That Remains and Avenged Sevenfold also move closer to the top 10. Debuting on the main chart are songs from Metallica (in the top 20 as well for James Hetfield and co.) and Royal Blood, and entering the top 50 is a song from Beartooth.

To compare with Billboard’s Mainstream Rock chart, click here (link will be available on Tuesday): www.billboard.com/charts/hot-mainstream-rock-tracks/2017-05-06

Color code:
Green – song gains in position or for a song not on the weekly chart
Orange – song drops in position or leaves the chart
Light blue – debut or re-entry in the top 40
Grey – song remains at its position

Elvis Costello – Radio Radio – SNL original footage 1977 (first portion only)

Elvis Costello and the Attractions were supposed to play ‘Less Than Zero’ but only a few bars into the song, Costello put a stop to it. “I’m sorry, ladies and gentlemen,” he said, “but there’s no reason to do this song here.” At that point he and the band launched into “Radio Radio,” a song that takes a jab at corporate-controlled broadcasting. Saturday Night Live producer Lorne Michaels was furious. According to some reports, he raised his middle finger at Costello and kept it up until the unapproved song was over. Costello was banned from the show for nearly 12 years. Elvis admits that he was copying Jimi Hendrix, who had done the same thing on the Lulu Show, when he went into an unscheduled rendition of the Cream song ‘Sunshine Of Your Love’. The full recording of this piece is unavailable on youtube due to SNL or Lorne Michaels or somebody. This first portion of the song is the max allowed so far, although how long this will remain up is anyone’s guess.
